St. Thomas Premium Painters is a painting company serving St. Thomas, Aylmer, Port Stanley, Talbotville and the wider Elgin County area. We handle interior repaints, exterior work, cabinet refinishing, deck and fence staining, and commercial projects for landlords, property managers and business owners. Our work is carried out by insured painters covered by WSIB. Certificates of insurance and WSIB clearance can be supplied on request before work starts — you do not need to request a quote first to confirm that the crew on your property is covered. We also carry commercial general liability insurance for both residential and commercial jobs.

Every project starts with an on-site assessment rather than a price over the phone. We look at the surfaces, the condition of the existing coatings, the repairs that will be needed, access and the finishes you want. That visit becomes a written scope: which rooms or elevations are included, what preparation is involved, which products and sheens will be used, how many coats, and what is explicitly excluded. You see the price and the scope together, so there is nothing to interpret later.

Preparation is where most of our time goes. Filling, sanding, caulking, degreasing in kitchens, bonding primer over previously oil-based trim, scraping and spot-priming on exteriors — these determine how the finish looks and how long it lasts. St. Thomas housing stock ranges from century homes with plaster and substantial original woodwork to post-war bungalows and newer subdivisions with thin builder-grade paint, and each needs a different approach. Older properties may also need lead-safe practices, which we identify during the assessment.

On site we protect floors, furniture and fixtures, keep the work area tidy at the end of each day, and stay in touch about scheduling so you know who is arriving and when. Exterior and deck work is scheduled around the Ontario weather window — stain and exterior coatings need dry surfaces and daytime temperatures above roughly 10°C, which in Elgin County generally means May through September.

Before we leave, we walk the project with you. Anything that needs touching up gets corrected then, not after a follow-up phone call. If something shows up afterwards that is clearly down to our workmanship, we come back and put it right.
